Who We Are

More Than a Facility.
We Are Family.

"Since opening our doors in 2018, our priority has been to have a lasting, long-term impact on the lives of our residents and their families."

We are a Christ-centered, family-owned and operated organization. Our homes are built on the belief that every person — made in the image of God — deserves to be treated with love, dignity, and respect, especially in their most vulnerable years.

Christ-Driven

Our faith shapes everything — how we hire, how we care, and how we treat every resident as a beloved child of God.

Family-Owned

We are not a corporate chain. Owners and families are present, accountable, and deeply invested in every resident's wellbeing.

Home-Style Living

Small homes. Real meals. Personal relationships. Your loved one is a resident — not a room number.

"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Our nursing team is led by Amy U., RN and Emily W., RN, who together oversee care across all three of our homes. With years of experience in senior nursing and hearts rooted in faith, Amy and Emily ensure every resident receives not just clinical excellence — but genuine love and dignity every single day.

What Families Are Saying

Don’t take our word for it — here’s what the families who matter most have to say.

"My mom has been treated with nothing but care, compassion, respect, and love from the staff and nurses who take care of her every day. I appreciate the peace of mind knowing she is safe and her physical and emotional needs are tended to. My family is so fortunate that Home of the Flint Hills is in our community and that my mom has found her home during this difficult journey through dementia."
"Home of the Flint Hills is by far the best choice for my parents. The entire staff has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The facility is clean and well staffed with caregivers. The meals are prepared on site and my Dad loves it. I would highly recommend Home of the Flint Hills to anyone looking for a memory care facility for a family member."
"My mom stayed 7 months here. It was truly a Godsend. The staff and facility are the very best. We are forever grateful."
Common Questions

Answers to What Families Ask Most

We are a private-pay community and do not participate in Medicaid or KanCare programs. Families typically fund care through personal savings, retirement income, Social Security, long-term care insurance, and VA Aid & Attendance benefits for qualifying veterans and their surviving spouses. Residents can still use their Medicare benefits for covered medical services and prescription medications through outside providers. One important planning strategy many families use is a private-pay spend-down. Rather than applying for Medicaid immediately, families use private funds first — which allows their loved one to live in a higher-quality, home-style setting — while spending down assets to eventually qualify for Medicaid in a Medicaid-certified facility later if needed. This approach gives families more options and more time in a setting they actually want, rather than being limited to only Medicaid-certified facilities from the start. We encourage families to work with an elder law attorney or financial advisor to plan ahead. We’re happy to have an honest conversation about costs and planning — just give us a call.

Pricing depends on the level of care needed and which home your loved one would call theirs. We are a private-pay community, so costs are covered through personal funds, long-term care insurance, VA benefits, and similar private resources. Call us at 785-494-2600 for a personal, no-obligation conversation about costs — we believe in complete transparency so families can plan with confidence.

We are small, family-owned homes — not large institutional facilities. That means your loved one has real relationships with their caregivers, not a rotating staff of strangers. We are faith-based, which shapes our culture and our people. And because we offer every stage of care across our family of homes, many residents are able to remain within our community as their needs grow — though we will always be transparent with families if a higher level of care is ever needed beyond what we can provide.
We offer Adult Daycare, Respite Stays, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Hospice across our family of homes. When a resident’s care needs grow, we do everything we can to keep them within our community and with the team they already know and trust. We will always be upfront with families if a level of care is ever needed that goes beyond what we can safely and lovingly provide — your loved one’s wellbeing always comes first.
Yes. We are a Christ-centered, family-owned organization that honors Jesus Christ. In practice, this means our mission and culture are rooted in treating every resident with the love and dignity that reflects our faith. We strive to build a team that embraces our core values of compassion, respect, and genuine care for others. We offer opportunities for prayer, scripture, and worship. Families of all backgrounds are welcome — our faith shapes how we care, not who we accept.
Simply call us at 785-494-2600 or fill out the form on this page and we’ll follow up as soon as possible — usually the same business day. We offer in-person tours at all three locations and can arrange virtual tours for family members who live out of town. There is no cost and no obligation — just an honest conversation about what your family needs.
